In his American debut, Interim WBA Welterweight Champion David Avanesyan (22-1-1, 11KOs) strong-arms his way to victory against former three-time world champion, ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley (49-10-1, 41KOs). Mosley would flash combinations at times but it seemed his age caught up to him. Cornerman Roberto Duran could not breath life into the listless Mosley. The younger Avanesyan would land several crisp shots throughout the bout scoring when Mosley was inactive. Mosley in turn landed several low blows. Sugar landed a devastating low blow blasting Avanesyan square in the baby maker in round 10 which resulted in a point deduction. Avanesyan is now the WBA mandatory challenger for the winner of Porter v Thurman. Scores were 114-113, 117-110×2

Super Middleweight Shane ‘Legacy’ Mosley Jr. (7-1, 5KOs), won in a shaky performance against Ricardo Yong (5-8-2,4KOs). Mosley flashed brilliance at times but could not mount a defense against the ambidextrous, straight right of Yong. Mosley Jr. would rock Yong in round 6 but could not finish the job. Scores were: 57-57, 59-55, 58-56

In the opening bout, Cruiserweight bout, Dimar Ortuz (11-0-2, 8KOs) defeated Ricardo Campillo (9-10-1,7KOs). Campillo played the role of punching bag for most of the bout. Ortuz mercifully ended the bout 25 seconds into the 6th round.
